Join us for a 90-minute sound bath and journaling experience, where tranquility meets self-reflection in a journey tailored for you. Hosted by Ashley from Harmonic Living, this transformative event invites you to explore the soothing powers of sound healing and its profound benefits for meditation and wellness.

Teen Art Journaling Workshop

Do you struggle with friendships, family, or thoughts you feel won’t be heard regularly? Come and explore some creative strategies for creating the life you want through expressive art journaling, which captures your complex thoughts, dreams, and desires.

My method of art journaling involves free-formed watercolor paintings that identify a person's personality, communication, processing style, fears, and other traits that interfere with success in many areas of life. In this art journaling workshop, we will focus on nonverbal expression to unlock the creativity hidden underneath us. This workshop does not require any artistic ability whatsoever. All it needs is the desire to explore one's colorful self and finally have an outlet for emotional expression.

I will walk participants through various lessons incorporating journal writing and art journaling. We will use color to interpret what blocks emotional growth.

Required Materials: Journal or composition notebook. It can be watercolor paper, or regular paper.

Self-Development Book Club

Come enjoy refreshments and good company at our April Book Club meeting! This month we are reading Untamed: Stop Pleasing, Start Living by Glennon Doyle.

This is how you find yourself.

There is a voice of longing inside each woman. We strive so mightily to be good: good partners, daughters, mothers, employees, and friends. We hope all this striving will make us feel alive. Instead, it leaves us feeling weary, stuck, overwhelmed, and underwhelmed. We look at our lives and wonder: Wasn’t it all supposed to be more beautiful than this? We quickly silence that question, telling ourselves to be grateful, hiding our discontent—even from ourselves.

For many years, Glennon Doyle denied her own discontent. Then, while speaking at a conference, she looked at a woman across the room and fell instantly in love. Three words flooded her mind: There She Is. At first, Glennon assumed these words came to her from on high. But she soon realized they had come to her from within. This was her own voice—the one she had buried beneath decades of numbing addictions, cultural conditioning, and institutional allegiances. This was the voice of the girl she had been before the world told her who to be. Glennon decided to quit abandoning herself and to instead abandon the world’s expectations of her. She quit being good so she could be free. She quit pleasing and started living.

Soulful and uproarious, forceful and tender, Untamed is both an intimate memoir and a galvanizing wake-up call. It is the story of how one woman learned that a responsible mother is not one who slowly dies for her children, but one who shows them how to fully live. It is the story of navigating divorce, forming a new blended family, and discovering that the brokenness or wholeness of a family depends not on its structure but on each member’s ability to bring her full self to the table. And it is the story of how each of us can begin to trust ourselves enough to set boundaries, make peace with our bodies, honor our anger and heartbreak, and unleash our truest, wildest instincts so that we become women who can finally look at ourselves and say: There She Is.

Untamed shows us how to be brave. As Glennon insists: The braver we are, the luckier we get.

Yin Yoga

Yin yoga encourages the practitioner to find their edge. This edge may be physical or emotional. By holding each pose for 3, 5 or 7 minutes, we work to yield into stillness and gravity. Muscles are intentionally disengaged and a focus on acceptance is encouraged and cultivated in this practice. This will be a propped class, allowing unique bodies to find an appropriate level of physical sensation in each pose.

Please avoid eating a heavy meal prior to this practice. All materials provided, but if you’d like to bring your own yoga mat or blanket, you are welcome to do so. Water is always encouraged.

Come enjoy refreshments and good company at our February Book Club! Our book for this month is Ikigai: The Japanese Secret to a Long and Happy Life By Hector Garcia and Francesc Miralles

Find your ikigai (pronounced ee-key-guy) to live longer and bring more meaning and joy to all your days.

“Only staying active will make you want to live a hundred years.” —Japanese proverb

According to the Japanese, everyone has an ikigai—a reason for living. And according to the residents of the Japanese village with the world’s longest-living people, finding it is the key to a happier and longer life. Having a strong sense of ikigai—where what you love, what you’re good at, what you can get paid for, and what the world needs all overlap—means that each day is infused with meaning. It’s the reason we get up in the morning. It’s also the reason many Japanese never really retire (in fact there’s no word in Japanese that means retire in the sense it does in English): They remain active and work at what they enjoy, because they’ve found a real purpose in life—the happiness of always being busy.

In researching this book, the authors interviewed the residents of the Japanese village with the highest percentage of 100-year-olds—one of the world’s Blue Zones. Ikigai reveals the secrets to their longevity and happiness: how they eat, how they move, how they work, how they foster collaboration and community, and—their best-kept secret—how they find the ikigai that brings satisfaction to their lives. And it provides practical tools to help you discover your own ikigai. Because who doesn’t want to find happiness in every day?

Book Club

Come enjoy refreshments and good company at our February Book Club! Our book for this month is Attached by Amir Levine and Rachel Heller. At the end of the meeting, we will be voting on March's book.

'A groundbreaking book that redefines what it means to be in a relationship.'John Gray, PhD., bestselling author of Men Are from Mars, Women Are from Venus

Is there a science to love? In this groundbreaking book, psychiatrist and neuroscientist Amir Levine and psychologist Rachel S. F. Heller reveal how an understanding of attachment theory – the most advanced relationship science in existence today – can help us find and sustain love.

Pioneered by psychologist John Bowlby in the 1950s, the field of attachment explains that each of us behaves in relationships in one of three distinct ways:

Anxious people are often preoccupied with their relationships and tend to worry about their partner’s ability to love them back.

Avoidant people equate intimacy with a loss of independence and constantly try to minimize closeness.

Secure people feel comfortable with intimacy and are usually warm and loving.

With fascinating psychological insight, quizzes and case studies, Dr Amir Levine and Rachel Heller help you understand the three attachment styles, identify your own and recognise the styles of others so that you can find compatible partners or improve your existing relationship. An insightful look at the science behind love, Attached offers readers a road map for building stronger, more fulfilling connections.

January Book Club

Come hang out with us and talk about this month's book, "How to Do the Work: Recognize Your Patterns, Heal from Your Past, and Create Your Self" by Nicole LePera 'The Holistic Psychologist'.

From Dr. Nicole LePera, creator of "the holistic psychologist"—the online phenomenon with more than two million Instagram followers—comes a revolutionary approach to healing that harnesses the power of the self to produce lasting change.

As a clinical psychologist, Dr. Nicole LePera often found herself frustrated by the limitations of traditional psychotherapy. Wanting more for her patients—and for herself—she began a journey to develop a united philosophy of mental, physical and spiritual wellness that equips people with the interdisciplinary tools necessary to heal themselves. After experiencing the life-changing results herself, she began to share what she'd learned with others—and soon "The Holistic Psychologist" was born.

Now, Dr. LePera is ready to share her much-requested protocol with the world. In How to Do the Work, she offers both a manifesto for SelfHealing as well as an essential guide to creating a more vibrant, authentic, and joyful life. Drawing on the latest research from a diversity of scientific fields and healing modalities, Dr. LePera helps us recognize how adverse experiences and trauma in childhood live with us, resulting in whole body dysfunction—activating harmful stress responses that keep us stuck engaging in patterns of codependency, emotional immaturity, and trauma bonds. Unless addressed, these self-sabotaging behaviors can quickly become cyclical, leaving people feeling unhappy, unfulfilled, and unwell.
